Common questions

How do I install WellerDeveler SheetMagic?
Install from the Google Workspace Marketplace. After installing, open any Google Sheet, click Extensions > WellerDeveler SheetMagic > Open Settings. You can start using the free tier immediately — no API key needed. Just type =AI() in any cell.
Do I need my own Claude API key?
No. WellerDeveler SheetMagic includes a shared API key for all tiers. The free tier uses a shared key with a 50 call/month limit. On Pro and Business plans, you can optionally add your own Anthropic API key to bypass all call limits. Get one at console.anthropic.com.
How does billing work?
Pro and Business plans are sold as monthly license keys through Gumroad. After purchase you receive a license key by email. Enter it in WellerDeveler SheetMagic > Settings > License Key to activate your plan. You can cancel at any time.
Is my data private?
Cell data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. WellerDeveler SheetMagic itself does not store your spreadsheet content. Responses are cached locally in your browser for 6 hours to improve performance. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Why are my formulas returning errors?
The most common cause is hitting the rate limit (10 calls/minute). Wait a moment and try again. Also check that you have calls remaining for the month (WellerDeveler SheetMagic > View Usage). If you see "No API key" errors, open WellerDeveler SheetMagic > Settings. For other errors, check our documentation.
Can I use WellerDeveler SheetMagic on large datasets?
Yes. Functions like =AI_SENTIMENT() and =AI_CATEGORIZE() can be applied to entire columns. The 6-hour cache means repeated calls on the same cell text are instant and don't count against your monthly limit. For large batch jobs, we recommend the Business plan with unlimited calls.
